Voyage across Mobile Bay, through Orange Beach, Pensacola, Fort Walton, Destin, Panama City and into Apalachicola Bay. Captain Chris will help you plan your route.
1PM- Bob Duthie- ”What to Expect Cruising America’s Great Loop”
Cruising America’s Great Loop is the adventure that many boaters put on their bucket list. The Great Loop is the 6,000 mile circumnavigation of Eastern North America by water; from Florida to the Great Lakes to the Mississippi, to the Gulf of Mexico. Bob’s talk will cover boat selection, itinerary, route choices, provisioning, costs, and resources. In addition he will show photos of the many highlights encountered on the route.
3PM- Cpt Chris Caldwell- “Crusing the Florida Keys”
The Keys are the place to go where you can find clear water, tropical climate and an “island” attitude. Captain Chris can help you plot your course for these far away islands that are really just next door. It’s an easy place for friends to visit without a passport.
4:30PM- Bob Duthie- “Keeping In Touch While Cruising”
How to keep in touch with friends and family while enjoying long cruises is a concern to many boaters. Bob’s talk covers access to the Internet, photography, maps, email, blogging, and even self publishing a book when the voyage is completed. This talk is based on Bob’s experience blogging during 8,000 miles boating on America’s Great Loop, the Tennessee and Cumberland Rivers, and 69,000 miles RVing from Newfoundland to Alaska.
